PROBLEM SOLVING
Problems come in all shapes and sizes. Throughout creating both my Earthquakes in London and Behind the Curtains work I have come across a range of issues. The text below shows how I overcame these problems.

Earthquakes in London Poster
Creating the poster for Earthquakes in London the main problem came when I had finished the design as I had drawn it on paper with pencil not online. I emailed the graphics department for their assistance in transferring into a computer graphics design

Behind the Curtains and Vimeo
My original plan was to use Vimeo to edit the films for the Behind the Curtains documentary. However, I had the idea of Vimeo wrong as the website doesn't edit videos for free, only through a subscription to the site. Instead of using Vimeo I have decided to use Premiere Pro which is available at college.

Behind the Curtains Project Aims
My original proposal was not clear to others and therefore adjustments were made and extra things were added into the idea. I was originally planning on creating a documentary series. This was altered to become a full length documentary with small clippings as advertisements. I feel that this gave the project a clearer outcome and allows me to create a flow between the sections.

MET2 Title Colour
I found myself looking at the colours I was using on this website's title colours to decide how it would be presented. It was hard to see the original one that I had designed which was all the colour of this text. I decided to alter it so that it created a pattern. As you can see, I decided to put the first letter of each word in the colour I am using and the rest in white and the MET2 logo switched round both with a black background. I like the way this was done as it works well with the Font used (Monoton) and also looks attractive on the background.

MET2 Sub Title Colour
I went through a few colours for the subtitles... I originally had it the same as the text; however, it didn't stand out enough from the text to be able to differentiate between the two. I therefore altered it to see if purple worked with the text but it really didn't. I found that grey seems to work best best. It works well with the background and still stands out enough to be different from the text colour.

MET2 and Timetable Plan
I found transferring my timetable plan onto the website harder than I had originally thought it would be. I tried to copy and paste it onto the website as it would be easier. This didn't work and all I got was the text one word after another. I then thought about drawing out the lines on here and adding a series of text boxes, but then realised the moment I added just a single word in it would change how it looks. I therefore added the work onto the page as a PDF link. This made things a lot easier and means I can alter the work as much as I want.

Behind the Curtains and Department Links
Department links are crucial for my documentary to work, I originally asked Sarah (the tutor for the drama group) for the links to everyone involved. She did email back linking in a variety of tutors around the college, but this just gave me a range of people and not department they belonged to. This meant I was half way to having the information I wanted. She also added in people to the email that were not going to be involved with Behind the Curtains but were involved Earthquakes in London. I spent some time talking to the group at lunchtime that were going to be acting to see if they knew. They informed me that they were going to be involved backstage doing the make up and costume. This meant that I didn't need to have department links for these areas. I also asked Phil (my tutor) to clarify Charlie's (the Music Tech) email so that I could book the use of a camera for my filming.
Epilepsy and I
Epilepsy has affected me a bit during this project so I have had to become a bit flexible. I found that the day I was due to do the tour of the college theatre I woke up and almost head-butted my desk. As a result I decided to postpone the tour due to needing to climb up ladders. I filmed in the theatre the following week when I felt more comfortable.

Class Connections and Interviews
During the documentary I would like to have interviews someone within each department, looking at different people's experiences in their own area. However, I seem to be having difficulties finding people. I honestly thought, due to the nature of their course, that I wouldn't have too many issues within this part of the project. I didn't realise how wrong I actually was. I have gained one person who has said they are willing to do it. I will continue to progress with this plan, I have emailed the group, requesting each sector to do it. Otherwise, I will have to cut the interviews out of the plans and just follow them within their time whilst in the department and have some narrative during these shots.

Live Streaming Preparation
I was unable to create a live stream as Youtube would not let me today. I will be trying again in a few days time. I will be rescheduling when I am due to create the live stream to a later time, when Youtube can create a live stream for me. I tried again, however, it doesn't seem to working even though I am following the instructions provided. I will try again at college.

Lighting and Sound Set ups
I have discovered that I will be unable to follow the set ups for both lighting and sound for She Kills Monsters as both the lighting and tech runs are both after my final deadline, this does take a large portion out of my documentary as they are really what puts the play in its final form. As this was not so, I have decided that even though I will not be able to capture the finished product I will continue to follow the background of it such as their meetings and film interviews with some of those involved. I feel like these alone will still add to my project.

Extra work
Before joining the drama class this morning I was able to have a chat with Sarah. During this she mentioned advertisement of the production and the poster and that I was doing it. This is something that I was not aware of. I also attended the production meeting today and they also want me to make an Instagram for the class.

When creating the Instagram account for She Kills Monsters I tried to use my college email address. However, I was unsure how to add a separate account onto because of this I created a new Gmail address for just that production that could be used by not only me but the rest of the drama class as well. I feel that this sorted out the problem that I was having as I was able to then create a new account. Despite this I have not added much to the account due to time constraints, I feel like in the future I should be putting extra time into my plans for social media which will allow me more time to focus on that area and to make it more appealing to those viewing.

Make Up
During meetings I have discovered that the make up run will not be held until after the documentary is due to go live. Therefore, instead of filming the make up artist whilst they are actually doing the make up, I have decided to ask them about their plans for the make up. I feel this will cover the base of the area and make it so that the area is still included in the documentary.

Video Transferal and Splitting
To put my final piece together I have to transfer the videos filmed on my phone onto the computer. however the file size is too large to send by Gmail or to simply transfer into my drive. Therefore, I have had to find a programme that could split the documents to a suitable size before I can move them. This was not as easy as I thought it would be. I went to multiple Apps and sites such as Bandicut, Filmora Go and Video Splitter before I found a free video splitter that was suitable.
