 Women  i Sport  Brief

Below is a brief of what I intend to do with my Culture Channel page 'Women In Sport'.

Throughout the brief I have given some history on MET Connect and who it has been created by. As well as this, I have explained what else has been added by other students and what Women In Sport should include.

This was then followed by how the content should be created, the dates it should be posted by and any difficulties that could occur during production. The brief is concluded by how the website (and of course the page) should be promoted, before finally giving examples of other Podcasts to provide inspiration on how to create a podcast.

MET Connect is a culture channel created by the Level Three Festival and Event Management students within Greater Brighton Metropolitan College. With a range of topics from Food to College Life, Women In Sport will allow the female students and those involved in sport to hear the big questions in their areas from a female point of view, allowing women’s voices to be heard.

Women In Sport podcasts should be approximately ten minutes long, with an upbeat musical introduction with an upbeat host to follow. Discussions should include humour if possible, with upbeat discussion throughout followed with an upbeat musical ending. The supporting website should be colourful with pictures to show the topic being discussed. Record podcasts through Zencastr, add both the introduction and edit the recording within Bandlab before adding to the MET Connect channel.

The MET Connect channel page should be completed by March 25th 2021 whereas 4 Podcasts should be completed by May 28th 2021. Podcasts should contain discussions with Women within the sporting community, this includes women who play sports or are in the background such as photographers; questions should be relevant to modern sports from television viewing to the gender pay gap.

Access to Zencastr can be difficult for some people due to needing to use a particular browser and therefore finding participants may be challenging. Along with this, entry to the MET Connect Channel in order to edit any page can be problematic as only one person can be on the page at any one point.

Women In Sport should be promoted on both the channel’s Instagram and personal Facebook page as well as through word of mouth.
